Interesting. I thought I'd get more quizzical responses to the deep-fried turkeys. Oh well, live and learn.

TS, this is how I make sweet tea.

--Add ~1 quart of water and three large (family-size) flow-through tea bags to a small saucepan.
--Heat until it just starts to boil.
--Remove from heat and let stand (steep) ~10-15 minutes.
--In a gallon pitcher, add 1 1/2 cups of sugar (more or less to taste, of course).
--Add the steeped tea to the pitcher. Squeeze out the tea bags for more flavor.
--Stir the sugar/steep mixture in the pitcher till the sugar is dissolved.
--Add cold water to make a gallon, stirring all the way.
--Chill, as it's best served cold.

Now that everyone can make their own sweet tea, I promise this is the Last time I mention sweet tea, unless someone else brings it up.

Grits: I won't even go there!

Yep Sweet tea is the same as Iced tea. I had a feeling all along. So if you come to Canada just ask for iced tea. It is just another type of pop up here unless you brew it your self or by the Iced tea mix from the supermarket. Which is really good. I drink it all the time. It helps with those sore sunday mornings if you did not keep track of what drinks your body can handle on a Sat. night.

Sun tea. I have heard of it but never tried it. I love tea. Russian tea is quite nice. Bitter with a nice hint of sweetness.

Green tea is very nice. I am drinking some right now. Getting ready to watch some Jackie Chan (twin dragons) and just plain old Sunday night relax before the work week begins

I like green tea - it's very astringent and refreshing. Those are my two Favorites - "Asian" (Japanese/Chinese) green (for its sharpness) and "Southern sweet" - (for its sweetness). Make me choose between them? No way!! They both rule! IDIC!

Sun tea is made basically the same as sweet/iced tea, except you don't heat the water. You just stick it straight into the pitcher, put the teabags in it, and let it sit (steep) in the sun all day. The rest is the same.

--edit: I read below and noticed the jalepeno poppers (I forget the code for an 'n' with a tilde ) part of the thread. I love 'em, but can't get them where I live, ironically, just north of Pittsburgh by about an hour & 15 minutes(depending on traffic and driver sanity/will to live). Had them all the time in San Diego (hometown) when I lived there, and when I visited earlier this summer. I could probably find them if I drove out about half an hour, but they aren't worth that much
