Fan Fiction just took a big step forward....

I downloaded the film last night and watched the first five minutes of it. Yes, the special effects are excellent for a non-Hollywood outfit, very impressive. And yes, the villainess' acting is a bit flat, but in comparison to Chrstensen that's not a deal-killer.

I'll post a more thorough review once I finish the movie.

I watched it last night on Ifilm.com. They have it available there as streaming video so you don't have to download the whole thing. It probably suffers a bit from being on my computer. I'd still like to download the .iso at some point and burn it on a dvd and watch it on my tv, but I was very impressed. The acting in total isn't that bad. The costumes are impressive considering they were all made by amateurs. The climactic light saber duel was very nicely done, although it seemed a bit dark. That may have been because I was watching it on my computer. The space scenes are quite simply stunning. I found myself forgetting at times that it was a fan flick.

The story was as engaging as it could be given the limited time they had to develop it. It fit very well with the established Star Wars universe.

I watched it about a week ago and rather enjoyed it. One thing you tend to notice is that the actors look like everyday people rather than the plastic Hollywood types. All in all I think they did a great job!

Something to note for all the people who claim that George Lucas is evil, is that he encourages this type of thing.

No idea, but I've got it on my HD. If you can accept files on IRC or have a REALLY big file size limit on your email (its 28 .6 MB) I can get it to you.
