You're right.

The carrion ladies are somewhat better at reanimating.

The carrion lords die less easily and can cast better spells.

Yeah they are slightly cheaper but have low hp and worse magic skills.
So i always buy the Lords exclusively.
The Ladies die easily with flames and stuff like that while the Lords can survive a few with their 53 hp

Sure, sure, I just wanted to comment on the reanimation-effectivity. The ladies also research a bit better but are otherwise inferior, all too true. Having many commanders shields the important ones from assassinations and allows for a bit more flexibility in troop-movements, though.

That said, I wouldn't make anything else than lords as they stand now (yes, that's aimed at you Cherry! ).
