Default Blessing with weak priests

Ok, so playing a bless strategy with Marignon is cool, because the High Inquisitors can cast Divine Blessing, so as long as you have one in each fight your sacred units all get blessed.

How does a bless strategy work with a nation without recruitable holy-4 priests? Races like Vanheim and Jotunheim, Pangaea and Machaka - all have viable bless strategies, but can only have one or two holy-4 priests (prophet and maybe a hero). Pan barely even has those (you have to make the hero your prophet!).

Is it my imagination or is only the first Blessing spell in a script ever going to have any effect? It has AoE 10, but still seems to bless only half an army of 8 giants or vans.

If I script my priests to cast Blessing more than once, the 2nd one always seems to be targeted exactly where the first one was - either hitting the same units, or hitting empty space if they've moved.

Is there a cunning trick to this, or do you just have to have one holy-2 or holy-3 priest per 4-6 sacred units, arranged in little groups??

Yours in confusion,

CC

They don't always cast in the same place, its just the randomness of AoE spells. I find I can get a decent sized group of troops blessed with a couple holy-2 priests casting multiple blessings. Sometimes a few troops on the corners get missed. I don't usually need to do this but you could try having the priests slightly seperated from each other?

Ok, I guess I need to do more trials of this. Yes, I'll try multiple priests spread out a bit. Thanks.

You have to tell your sacred troops to 'hold and attack' so that the priests have time to get to all of them.

Yes, Hold&Attack is forced. You just can't try to rush the enemy and except your troops to receive their blessing.

Also, IIRC Pangaea has 1N3H dryads in base, and 1N2H dryads in New Era. That would mean base Pangaea is a viable bless race, espcially as White Centaurs are quite good sacred units.
