Given this situation, won't it be possible to make surrendering easier?
Now, AFAIK, you have to be at pointblank range, the unit has to be really suppressed and you have to have a lucky dice roll for the unit to surrender and not run away or disperse.
Dunno if its possible but I'd like to see surrendering more frequently, esp. for example in situations when the given subject (squad etc.) will be routed and will see lots of enemy units nearby.

Surrounded units will surrender easier, so have 3+ guys in hexes around the unit, not just one walking up to it and shooting.

In the 2.0 upgrade, you will not always have to shoot units to surrender - they will occasionaly surrender to the nearest unit within 1 hex if bad morale in the retreat section of thier turn (that unit gaining a kill), again more chance if surrounded and less if there is a "golden bridge". Also, units will now often retreat in a "better" direction if enemy within 1 hex - even if that durection is 180 degrees from their base line.

Some will of course, still blunder off through enemy units, but this will now tend to trigger an opfire at range 0 (so probable melee) from the unit run into, if it is in reasonable condition with several shots left.
