Default tarrasque

has anyone ever tried using an army of tarraques (dont know if it is spelt right...)
what I do is is give about 10 or 15 of them to a mage send in another couple of mages and make them beef up the tarrasques before they get into to combat and if you make them hold and attack you can give then some serious kiking power I did this against a 100 man army (mostly amazons and undead) but they had a few mages as well... 15 tarraques smegged them! they just breezed through them the battle was over before my the amazons got half way across the battle field
and if I can afford to get a tarrasque every turn (or more with mother oak ) I just cast a couple of gifts of reason give them some magic items and give them some magic having 2 or three of these armies going around is enough to unerve any opponent then when he sees them attack his capital with 40 of these 10 mages and 200+ other troops well...

25 gems for a single non-commander without any rare abilities seems a steep price to me. An Ivy King costs 20 Nature gems and is much more useful. Any SC with poison resistance and life drain would have little problem with a Tarrasque.

Sure, 40 buffed Tarrasques might do a lot of damage. However, with a budget of 1,000 gems (40 * 25), you can create much stronger armies. Cast the same buffs on 100 Bane Lords with base equipment, and the winners would be eating dragon sandwiches for months.

i like tarrasques and they work well for me . if you have lots of spare nature go for some ivy kings to lead the tarrasqes and to give them a screen of vinemen

yes but if you only had acess to natures that is about as good as you can get IF you don't want to have a huge screen full of commanders

If you already have an Ivy King, you can get 100 Vine Ogres for the price of one Tarrasque.

In addition to Ivy Kings and Vine Ogres, here are some things I like to get with Nature gems:
  • Haunted Forest
  • Lamia Queen (and Lamias)
  • Faery Queen
  • Firbolg
  • Couatl
  • Wild Hunt
  • Gift of Health
  • Gift of Reason
  • Ring of Regeneration
  • Endless Bag of Wine
  • Thistle Mace
  • Soulstone of the Wolves
  • The Chalice
  • The Tome of Gaia
  • Boots of Calius
  • Boots of the Messenger
  • Robe of Calius
  • Hydra Skin Armor
  • Totem Shield
  • Eye Shield
  • Vine Shield
  • Snake Bladder Stick
The Tarrasque isn't a bad unit. I just have a long list of what I consider better uses for Nature gems.

Tarrasque can be kinda fun to GoR and empower though. Makes for a pretty solid SC.

try 10+ tarrasques and 2 - 4 vine kings, whenever you have leftovers from tarrasqes summon vine ogres to screen them ( or try empowered tarrasque as previously mentioned
