Somewhere amongst this argument I recall a post stating that blood sacrificiers for Mictlan are automatically replenished. Is that really true, and how does it work?

Blood sacrificers automatically grab the same amount of slaves they sacrificed last turn at the end of every turn. Thus, they will start the turn with slaves in their inventory. The problem here is that they only sacrifice slaves that they have in their inventory when you submit your turn. If you removed the slaves, no sacrifice will occur.

Good to know, thanks. The key would seem to be making sure you do not select your sacrificers when doing the CTRL-Z thing, yes?

Correct. Set the hunters up in a ctrl group, and press 'Z' to have them dump their slaves in the lab.

Re: Blood Simple?!
It also means you can't just use the global 'Pool blood slaves' behind F7.

Re: Blood Simple?!
I can't actually be bothered to get to grips with all the stats that are being posted on optimal this or that etc etc.
I can give you my own personal experience. I play Mictlan about 80% of my games. I find the micromanagement more than most other nations. I state categorically now, that I do not consider this a detriment to Dominions the game. The nation of Mictlan has been set up with certain functional issues in hand which I accept to play them.
When I play other nations there is definately more lax attitude to developing dominion. With Mictlan your considerations are more than just building a temple and leaving it. You have to make a lot more decisions to gain dominion. Plus your managing blood income as well as all the other issues of gem income. This would also appear to be nothing to do with blood magic, its Mictlan specific due to its national handicap.
