Hello,

Thanks for the bug reports.

The Armor issue is one that is a bug with SEIV itself.. If I had it to do all over again the shuttle system would be completely revamped. What happened was that there was not going to be any fighters in the game, only shuttles. But people wanted to have fighters so they had to be put back in. This is when the armor bug appeared. The game sometime, mainly with AI, will ignor restrictions and often do what it pleases when it damn well pleases to do it.

The friendly AI... that is a long standing bug with SEIV in general. The political system of the game is, well its non exsitant. I believe I have them set to the friendly setting, but being a human player the other AI will always turn on you.

I would love to see Aaron fix the political system of the game over most other bugs but I doubt that will ever happen.

Any ways I am glad that you like the mod, we aim to please. (Me, Myself, and I)

by the way, to add to what I said before, as you gave the nice response "we aim to please"!

to tell you the truth, SEIV on its own is a really, really good game, I love it, but frankly, there are a few better games, and what I like is on shows like BSG, or especially shown on stS9, the epic space fights with hundreds of ships!

the default game can only have 200 ships max per team, and resources are horrible with the planets being small, I think the game is great, but this just limits it slightly, the star trek mod, I just think this adds so much to it, and with the STM, I think that it is one of the best games out there.

the only thing I would of liked to see to make it any better would have to be higher tech levels and multi tech requirements, I have to say, from the proportions mod, this is one thing I really like, for example you can raise tech in one area, then going any further requires another one... It just really adds some extra fun, but to tell you the truth, adding it now would probably be wrong after being so used to how it is.

anyway, all I can really say is keep it up, and I cant wait to see what you do for SEV, I cant wait to play star trek mod on that

That's a setting in game setup that can go as high as 20000. It's just the default value for it that's 200, and you can change that in settings.txt without affecting compatibility with anything.

sorry, I didnt mean to sound stupid there, I know you can change it, but with planets storing less facilitys, you have to have fewer facilitys to get resources, and basically it is a slower game... usually, I was just trying to say how much I like STM due to the fact that everything works so well together!.... ahh, I wont go on much more! I just like it!

Thanks for explaining these things to me.

It is a very difficult thing to make an AI that can mimic human behavior on a rather simple scale - without all kinds of programming, computers, and advanced technology. The games AI is okay considering the platform it is performing on. There are so many "flexible" elements in SEIV, I am amazed at what the AI can do (this is coming from a person that does not play many games and does not know much about programming, so my comments may be uninformed ones). SEIV is not like chess where the AI has a finite number of moves it can make. I would hate to see the actual number that represents the value of possibilities for every possible move and descision that needs to be made while playing SEIV. I know it would be an outstanding number. I bet it is very very hard to come up with an AI to do this any justice.

Maybe someday it will be possible to do on a game that would still be affordable and played on a computer that the average person can obtain.

The problem with multi-tech requirements is that they don't really work all that well in SEIV. There is no way to know that something is a multi-tech required technology until it appears....having researched the technology. This would be better if we had a tech tree that actually looked like a tech tree such as the one in Gal Civ but we do not.

In the next version of the STM planets will have a higher popluation limit, more space for storage, and facilities.

Thanks for the comments guys.
