BFCs new CMC gave me the thought that something similar could be done with other games. Would you concider using ATF based games for the campaign and MBT for the battles?
|
As Curt said the ATF system would be far better suited to the tactical battles. You would acknowlege the idea of a real-time campaign system and turn based battle system would be 'novel', to say the least?
Apart from that, its a pretty neat idea. I think it would actually be easier with ACT (and Highway to the Reich, too, if you used that) than CM due to the way those games are played on real maps, or deivatives thereof, and could be at both levels.

Re: Demo
Not a lot of action in here.
I finally got a chance to try again.
The help button makes all the difference.
When I started the clock I had a heck of a time with right click to bring up the little menu. Did I miss something in the tutorial?
I'm not playing real time games in my old age but I still want to give this a go.

Re: Demo
While the game runs in realtime, it is fully intended that you will stop and start the clock during gameplay. You can do all of the things you do with the clock ON while the clock is paused.
So, if things get hectic, just pause the game and give the orders you need to.
I don't like RTS's that much either
BTW, if you are looking for other players, there is a very active forum at this address:

Re: Demo
I keep trying to understand this game but I think it is over my head.
The tutorial screenshots don't match what I see when I start it up. The tutorial points to 3/2/11 icon and I can't find it. The plotting exercise makes no sense when the paths are already plotted.

The problem was a change in the scenario after the tutorial was made. Not sure what the problem is with the plotting exercise, because you can choose ANY unit and plot your own waypoints, and you can do this anytime during the simulation. The waypoints are there initially as suggested waypoints only. You are NOT beholden to those waypoints.

Re: Demo
The demo has not been updated yet, but the tutorial scenario in the game IS updated. If you e-mail me at techsupport@prosimco.com, I would be happy to send you the updated files to fix the demo.
