Will, I fell off the map for a little bit when I first started university and continued working...but now that I'm unemployed I have a bit more time to do things...

Also, the Spoogy site is toast, but I might do something in the future with it...

I did a mod thingy with systems and planet types etc.

Errr... but it was alot more than just editing the systems.

Based on theorized models for solar system formation I had those that had the large ones up close (which in theory knock out smaller planets during initial formation so that you would have one or two large up close and then maybe a few outer planets or something) as well as standard sol type systems and a couple other ideas of my own such as a tidally locked large planet in the center of a trinary system etc...

I could probably look it up and make a few more alterations with it if anybody cares.

And I didn't have just one of each type... I think I had like 3 trinaries, 10 binaries, 5 sol types, 5 large types, 5 few planet types, etc...

Attached is a modified systemtypes file.

I have four standard solar systems. Two are my own creation. One I copied from a Moon mod I downloaded and the other is an original. All the other solar systems are the original.

In the two I created I have a small rock and medium rock close to the sun, followed by either a large or huge rock, then a huge gas. The outer ring has an ice large or huge. All the huge planets have moons with the following size combinations
M - Medium S T M S
S - Small S T T T
S S T T T
T - Tiny T T T
T T

The large have moon combinations of

No moons
1 Tiny moon or
1 small and 1 Tiny moon

I also added 4-6 more asteriods

I also upped the asteriod belt and added more storms

I also added more storms to the destroyed sun.

The one I copied from someone else's mod also as a variety of planets and moons.

With these changes I get a pretty good variety of planets. Some systems with moons and some without.
