The second afflicted mission hmm - is that the one with the zig zag approach from left to right?

If so, there's another thread around here with detailed instructions, but the basic strategy is to make hags the mainstay of your forces, and mix in some other units to help out. Hiro used a few lepers I think, and I used some plaguebearers and 1-2 missionaries.

But use hags to take towns first - you should be able to get at least 3 towns before encountering any significant opposition. And once your have forces enough to advance without significant losses, stop hiring and start saving.
