Oh man... now you've got me hooked... even though I got slaughtered in the first gritty game and I have way too many games on PBW already!

edit: Wait a second... Suicide Junkie, I looked at the data files for version 1.11, and it looks like the weapons aren't properly gridded - the components only have one level apiece, and the techs cannot actually be researched for improvement once discovered.... I thought you said you'd fixed that?
