I have a pbem game in progress using 2.5---if I install this patch, will it ruin my game?

It did for an opponent of mine (and me) a while ago when he tried to continue our 2.5 game with the 2.51 patch installed.

Of course - because the EXE checksum will differ.

Finish (or give up) any PBEM currently in progress before making any game changes.
