Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
Hey, anyone could have a bad day. And, besides that, it's rarely worth it to get angry over few sentences on internet. Without expressions, many things can seem worse than they actually are.
This community, and these forums, have repeatedly been said to be surpsisingly friendly. I don't remember Arralen being that grumpy earlier, either. He also has some real-life problems, which force him to drop out of the very diplomacy-heavy Wyrms game. He mentions having done turns under painkillers...
I understand your reaction, though. I noticed the grumpy response earlier, but thought it was just some badly chosen words. I quess most regulars thought something similar, because hardly anyone commented on that... The fact that no one seemed to care about a random comment like that must have made this seem even worse.

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
I agree that it can be hard to interpret without seeing facial expressions.
However....
"Drain-3 anyone ?" That comment clearly is meant to embarrass.
"Do you really think we wouldn't have spotted an error like this in the last 2 years? " It is clear from the sarcasm that he believes the questions should not have been asked and that the asker is an idiot.
The correct answer would have been:
"Drain -3 causes this. Glad to be of help!"
Sorry to have inconvenienced anyone but I did not appreciate the sarcasm. I believe that most people on this forum not only know the game well but are eager to help others learn it without putting them down in any way.

(Sorry about the third post)
Tough Guy, maybe it is better that you don't check the last post of the first page of this thread...

I do every turn under PKs.. Anyhow, the nature of PKs tend to get you in a better mood, not the other way around. Just my 2 cents.

If your feelings are so easily bruised that you have to have a ... "sweet" answer like you suggest, then perhaps public forums (god forbid the internet in general) just aren't the place for you. You don't like sarcasm - 31.5% of the population is sarcastic, while only 7.2% would've given you anything like your "correct answer".

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
Cainehill:
Most posts requesting info get a simple answer on this forum. I had always enjoyed the site. The type of response I got was by no means the standard which is why I got annoyed. I had never seen anyone on this forum subjected to that kind of response.
I was joking about the "Glad to be of help" part.
This is the last I'll write about this. Anyone can reply if they enjoy it but I will not be reading this forum again.

Re: Incorrect research for Sage?
Wow. I have never left a forum for getting flamed, or even a lecture (which apart from one comment...). And for future notice, if you give that type of response even when you feel provoked, it never works out well. Unless you are really really established on said boards.
