Default Re: Runtime error

If switching off all sounds makes the problem go away, then you have sound card problems.

- your sound card drivers may not be up to date, or may not be the XP version. Check the manufacturer's web site for the latest versions.

- As many cheaper or older sound cards (or installed third party CODECS) had problems with multiple simultaneous MP3 channels playing, in WW2 we issued the larger WAV file formats instead of the more compact MP3 file format. So any of these problems which occured with MBT are not your problem in this case.

- At a guess, as the battle FX files are rather large, then your sound card may simply not have enough horsepower to accomodate these, plus overlaid sound channels?. Try mouse click OFF in the game options screen, and Sound FX ON in preferences (to get explosions, movement, firing sounds etc), but Battle FX to OFF (no (large) background battle noise files being played then). If that works fine, then you may want to enable mouse clicks as well (I always turn them off as I find then irritating

Cheers
