Default Re: Israel Invades Lebanon - Current Campaign

Sorry about that, Pyro.

Anyway, here's scenario II:

Goes into Slot 201

Israel Enters Lebanon II

Date: July 15, 2006

Battle Location: Southern Lebanon

Battle Type: Israel Assault vs. Hizbollah Defend

Historicality: Hypothetical-Historical; based on the logical inference of what the IDF would do when faced with this problem.

Design by: Ryan Crierie

Scenario description: As the INS Hanit, a Sa'ar 5 Corvette steamed off the coast of Lebanon, it came under attack by two C-802 Silkworm Anti-Ship Missiles; One was fired as a plunging attack and missed, the second missile flew a sea skimming profile and hit the Hanit; resulting in severe fires, and four sailors were missing in the aftermath.

An Egyptian merchantman was also hit and sunk in the same attack.

After initial reports of the weapon(s) being a unmanned drone full of explosives, it was confirmed that they were indeed Iranian-supplied C-802 Silkworm missiles, launched by a missile battery manned by about 100~ Iranian troops.

Upon recieving this information, the Israeli Higher Command decided to launch a Commando raid on the missile battery to remove it from operation, as well as gather evidence, as aerial bombing would destroy the evidence that would implicate Iran in the attack.

Accordingly, three Sayeret Commando Teams, for a total of about 40~ commandoes were ordered to execute a night-time assault from the sea.

Note: If played against the AI, the human player should play the Israeli side.

Sources: The News Media and various Blogs covering the action.

EDIT: Now on Version 1.1; with renumbed scenario slot and redesigned Israeli team to make it less sniper-crazy.

You are welcome Ryan,

Perhaps you could also connect these scenarios in order to form a mini campaign!

cheers,
Pyros

Ryan: You might also consider renumbering a bit higher since some Wild Bill stuff is in the same range. That would make it very simple for all of us to just download and extract into the scenario folder without messing around. Thanks for considering it. /paladin/

Or use scenario_unpack program to auto renumber to your next slot.

Looks interesting but the grandsons are visiting. I'll try for next weekend.

Thanks for sharing.

I played both scens and I got the reverse of everybody else, I found the first one easier. I got all the VP hexes and had only 1 tank immobilised, along with a few infantry casualties. OPFOR needs better AT capability, maybe? Even a couple of CQ Assaults on my tanks barely scratched the paint.

The second one I think I was just too cocky, having elite Isreali commandos under my command went to my head. I will have to try again.

Enjoyed both of them. Good job.

BTW how did ya get the whole map as a GIF file? Is there a utility out there?
