Re: Press
I am just wondering...why isn't there more previews about Doms 3.? October 2. is very close now. In fact there are many strategy gaming oriented websites, I am sure that those would post a preview about Doms 3.

Re: Press
I think it's definitely incumbent on us as Dominions fans to do what we can to spread the word ourselves. There are lots of little things one can do -- for Dominions II, I submitted reviews to two of my favorite sites (rpg.net and gamefaqs.com - both of which are still hosting them), blogged about the game in my livejournal, sent out a few e-mails to friends, and mentioned the game in the various web forums and communities I haunt where I thought it was appropriate to suggest to other potential players. I'd even suggest e-mailing various outlets and asking them to review Dominions 3 -- odds are I'll ask the Penny Arcade guys to take a look at it as it's definitely Tycho's sort of bag and that site has crazy influence among a certain subset of gamers.
In any case, I'm sure Shrapnel's doing what they can to get it out there and, to be honest, most games of Dominions' size are lucky to get a review at release, to say nothing of a preview. I thought it was amazing that Gamespot offered a review of Dominions II -- and it was that review which sent me over here a few years ago in the first place. So, here's to doing our part in the meantime.

Re: Press
I must apologize - I'm behind in posting updates in the preview thread. I need to add to the list the most recent issues of Cyberstrategie, PC4War, and PC Pelaaja. These are all print magazines, the first two French, the third Finnish.
The preview code did not include the manual (as it was not complete at the time), so only reviewers who were already familiar with the series were able to effectively examine the beta of Dom 3.
We have a list of game sites and magazines anxious to get their hands on the final code with the manual, so you should see reviews aplenty And thank you to all who are talking up the game on other forums. That's a big part of getting the word out. Many gamers don't trust reviews and like to hear feedback from fellow gamers.

Re: Press
Don't count on that Endo. I already read one finnish preview and it was rather negative. It also hinted that some of the promised features weren't in the game.

Oh I see, good to hear these.
Anette, we have a nice little Doms 2. community in the city. I used to play multi games with these lads. Most of them are already preordered Doms 3. that is about 15 people so far.

Hm what promised features won't be added to the game? I just cannot think of any.

Hah. Dom2 articles was what kept me buying PC4War regularly - a good proportion of the team there were real Dom2 fans (some of which are still regulars on this forum). Most of them are now writing Cyberstratege. Small world...
