But they get +60% Gold income from the difficulty, and they have a castle everywhere. So they can hurl 200-300 troops at me each turn and replace them in 1-2 turns .

Caelum is the 2nd-smallest AI empire, only Ulm is smaller. Ulm seems to be wiped out very soon, they have only 2-3 provinces left
