Re: \"some limits on graphics in signatures\"
A good "limit" would be a simple option that users can set for themselves on whether to see graphics in signatures. We already have the option to see avatars or not. It shouldn't be too hard to limit sigs as well.

An excellent solution Baron, but I wouldn't mind there being like a 200-250k size limit to the siggys too because even with a high speed connection if everyone had a 500k siggy it would add up fast.

Re: \"some limits on graphics in signatures\"
200k??? That's very excessive for a signature image... something more like 10-20k would be good.

While you can't specifically remove from your site signature pictures, you can remove signatures from your view altogether. It's an option in your settings area.

Re: \"some limits on graphics in signatures\"
As for what the statement at the top of the forum is about, I'm going to be announcing a policy on signature graphics. This won't affect most people, but I have gotten some complaints about some specific signatures that are a little over the top both in dimension and file size. I'll be putting up an individual graphic limit and a combined graphics limit. So that people don't have sig graphics that go across the whole screen on an average resolution size and that one page doesn't take forever to load because there are many high file size sig graphics on the page.

Re: \"some limits on graphics in signatures\"
40k isn't bad.
Bad = When you scroll past the person's post your computer freezes up as it tries to play the graphics. =)

Re: \"some limits on graphics in signatures\"
I personally am against all signatures.
They are just annoying, boastful, and spammy.
The sole exception is a functional sig like Mindi's, used to clearly identify her official status and responsibilities.

Well see my post a few posts back about how to remove signatures from your view if you haven't done it already.

LOL, who, me? ;0
Yes, that setting is there. It was hard to find, but I managed it, and confirmed that it works.
