Mages that "slowly die when they leave home"?

Naiads and Nushis say that they will slowly die or wither and die when they leave their home?

What are the effects of this? Is it just fluff or are there penalties?

Does it basicly mean "stick them in a lab where they were summoned and don't move them"?

The game does indeed track home provinces... I'd expect hit point loss for every turn they're away.

Um - you could do what most people do. Summon one, move it a province in a SP game, see what happens. See what happens the turn after. Etc.

I wouldn't usually be this ... charitable in such a reply, but the results can actually be somewhat unusual.

Naiads lose one hitpoint every turn they are away from their home province. An easy way to get around this little problem is to give them a ring of regeneration. They don't seem to get afflictions from from losing these hitpoints. Either that or i just got lucky when i used them, even if they do get afflictions it's not a big deal since they have recuperation.
