Help, I lost my files.

Does anybody know a free program that can be used to recover lost files? I couldn't find anything good so far .

I don't know of any, but check Download.com

I already looked there. Found some programs, but no success in restoring the files, yet.
Guess I have to start again from scratch

The far out way is to pull your HD and slave it to a second machine. Then access it, as all files should then be visible, even one you deleted. Might work, then again..........

Hmm, yeah, that is far out. I have decided to stop griping and waste no more time on any recovery attempts. Instead I will try for a speedy recreation of the files while my memory is still fresh and I can decipher my notes

. Only two of the major files were lost. Although there is nothing more boring than doing the same thing twice, maybe I can make them even better this time.
