I simulated a base station defending against two attack ships. With both in range and 10 direct fire weapons availabe, and multiple tracking, the BS destroyed one attacker with four rounds of null space and STOPPED FIRING, whereafter the other ship was given a free shot he never should have had. Is this normal or have I missed something? Should he not shift targets automatically when the first is dead? How can I make him do this? Under "firing strategy" I chose fire until no weapons left.
I have seen this too, with a starbase - no idea what to do, as it had multiplex tracking. Looks like a bug, yet I only have seen it in combat simulations so far.
Mine was a starbase too. Should have been clearer about that. I notice it works for ships and planets all right. Maybe it is a specific bug for starbases.
I tried to recreate this problem and it worked just fine. I am pretty sure that this has happened to me in one PBW game. I remember that I was able to solve it by making the base player 2 instead of player 1.
I have seen this also now. It happened in an actual game. A battlestation with multiplex would only fire until the first target is destroyed. It seems that multiplex is not working for defense bases sometimes .

Has any one reported this, yet?

Yes. I can remember that someone reported this bug... But maybe you should send it again to MM.
