I'll be making my pretender only after the decision, that's for sure I'd say we might as well wait until the next patch, and play unpatched until then: the real big problems of the unpatched game are high up the research tree, I understand, so it will do less damage than the evil horror attacks unless the next patch will only come after a looong while.
