Re: Oceania joins the fray
It looks like players are more partial to play the game with the patch in spite of the horror issue. Fine with me. The horrors could make it fun for a bit.
All players should send me their final pretenders by Monday night at 9pm Boston time.

Re: Oceania joins the fray
Um - as far as I can tell, the patch didn't fix a damn issue, bugwise or gameplay wise. I'd prefer playing unpatched, and suggest that those players who patched without saving a copy of the original, should uninstall and re-install.
Edit : _and_ it would be nice to know whether we're playing patched / unpatched before we submit our pretenders. Suggest pushing back to Tuesday since it's up in the air now.

Re: Oceania joins the fray
I like how Solo handles the patch-issue in the other MP-game I am currently playing.
He keeps a copy of the previous turn-files and if a Horror attacks the turn will be rehosted. But with this number of players it might be quite a hassle...
Personally I would prefer the patched version, but would have no problems with installing a pre-patched version (should be no problem to have both a patched and an unpatched version on one harddisk or am I wrong ?).

Patch?
I will delay starting until Tuesday.
So far most players want to start WITH the patch. So, unless more players express concerns, we'll use the patch.
In any case, I will make sure players have enough time to submit replacement pretenders, etc.

Re: Patch?
To prevent people crying and stop playing because their pretender dies in a horror attack in turn 2 i would prefer a start without the patch.
But here we've the problem that i'm not sure that all players could install a second 3.0 Version of the game.
An illwinter coment about a hotfix would be very good!

Re: Patch?
Will try to install a 2nd Dom version with 3.00 later today. If this is no problem I would tend to favour the non-patched version now since it would indeed be bad to lose people due to this bug.
And yes, a comment concerning a hotfix would be good.

Re: Patch?
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure if I can bother to reinstall Domnison 3 version 3.00 since I am running two PBEM games with the patch version, so I'm dropping out. Sorry.
