In a sense, the "all-seeing eyes" referred to in the spell description are not the caster's own. And they might not even be "eyes" per-se...
How in blazes did this fellow win the tournament anyway? S6+ and Soul Slay seems the most likely explanation. If you have the pearls, empower something to S (within 1 of the EoG caster), wait for the next tournament and roll the dice on a Mind Duel. (hoping you win the toss for first action.) Next option: Highest MR you can get, flyer (so he only gets one shot) and the highest-damage weapon you can forge. Always satisfying to take down a global in the Arena. Frankly, I wouldn't send someone to the Arena if I plan to use him on a global...
