A little Something I Tried
I added a few Klingon ships to this file and tried to use them. They didn't work. So if any one wants to take a look at it, and see if they can tell me why they didn't work feel free.
I added X models for Frigate, Destroyer, Light Cruiser, Cruiser, Battleship, and Dreadnought.
I also added the 512x512 jpg images.

Re: A little Something I Tried
If someone could get the x models to work, I would love to see what they look like in the game.
There is a lot that a person must do in order to create a new set. Many images must be made and added. While I didn't go that far tonight, mainly because I just wanted to see what the models would look like, I could if they can be made to work.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Seems the code for your designs differs slightly from the game ships. They're both xfiles and will show in the x file viewer, but your designs do not register in the shipset viewer. The format for yours is different from what the game reads.

Re: A little Something I Tried
Atrocities, good news! Your ships are showing up in-game without changing your models at all. Bad news is that they are waaaaaay out of scale, laid-out on the wrong axis, and not taking your texture. But what the hell, its a start, right?
If you go into the _Ships_XFileClasses and increase the Starting Scale for each axis you'll be able to see your ships! (I can't remember by how much but try 10.0)
What modeler are you using and can it import an .x file?

Re: A little Something I Tried
I wasn't able to see them in the game. The images were the stock Amokie images. Amokie model showed up when I made a battleship when it should have been a Vort'cha.
I used DOGA to export the models. I don't believe it can import them.
The problem with DOGA is texturing. The ships look like cartoons and the x-y-z axis's are always funky. I was hoping to get some help on this.

Re: A little Something I Tried
I still may be able to give you a hand.
First, I need to apologize, I forgot that I had run a batch conversion on the files - .x to .x.
Attached is a zip that you can put into your mod folder.
Run a quickstart as the Abbidon and you'll see your battleship in place of their frigate.
I'll do some research into DOGA and get back to you...
