I love heroic strength jotun scouts (i have one in a sp test game), stick boots quickness on there and you'll have a weapon with longer range than a bow, a hell of alot more damage and 2 shots per turn.

True, but I tend to use them as ballistae not machine gun. Fire two shots at start, then let the bloodlust overcome him. With natur 9 he is more then a match for anything in close combat.

I don't know. Giants already have very high strength, but their scouts lack decent armor. Personaly I would take heroic defense or heroic toughness over heroic strength on my scout any time. That would help him survive battles much more than 39 strength. Unless you are trying to make SC killer out of him.

Re: I love Bogus
Five-member party.
Bogus, Kreon, Kartuk, Fang, Fadmargast.
Bogus is the Troll Raider (#646); there's also a Dark Knight (#647), a Troll Archer (#648), a Troll Mage (#649), and a Warrior Mage (#650). Bogus is the only one of the five that has unique magic items, IIRC.
Bogus is the slayer of chaff (*); the archer does go for commanders; one of the mages is an air mage and tends to go for Ghost Wolves et al.
Their arrival -can- be a fairly nasty event, but you may be able to replace your troop losses. I'd say that Intor Vadul the Ancient Presence is far less welcome at your capital than Bogus, unless you're the Ashen Empire.
(*) He's theoretically less efficient at it now, because weapon lifedraining has been toned down. He's still a pretty tough monster with a life-draining sword, regeneration, and decent skills.

There is one, both from the GUI and the commandline.

I can't understand this desire for Dominions, since order/turmoil and luck/misfortune dominions are core game concepts and major strategic choices.

Re: I love Bogus
AFAIK, independents don't ever eat so the single-scout siege can never take the castle.

Re: I love Bogus
Honestly, in single player I kinda like leaving weird provinces like that around. Gives the game more personality once it begins to wind down.

Really? I didn't know that...
Still, you get several benefits of the province (gold and free passage) just by camping your cheapest commander there. And if you know there's a fat Bogus group in there, you can even keep him warm until you're ready to tackle them and get the loot.

Re: I love Bogus
Id like to scatter castles on large maps as part of my chaos games (where I also randomly scatter sites, armies, equipment) but a castle in the game that way falls to the single-scout thing because everyone automatically defends. Ive asked for a map command of #patrol to fix that.
