Which means that the hunter of heroes bug will simply destroy MP games until it's fixed.

Not abit. I dont see where some opinion bug has anything to do with this. Maybe you should post that to some other thread?

I haven't seen a single HoH eating yet. I've played just a couple of games, blitzes started from the #dominions irc.

I lost a Paladin commander with the heroic ability of extra hitpoints to the horror. And I did verify this paladin did not have any horror marks at the start of the battle.

I lost some heroes to the eater of heroes but nothing that I would consider to be a "bug". But I didnt see where it applied to the original subject. If the person was trying to install a patch to change THAT in midgame (which wasnt mentioned) then its true that the answer locks THAT game until a patch fixes it. But it doesnt mean that it destroys all MP games since a new game can be started using a mod.

And besides, I didn't notice it in the blitzes I played. So it doesn't ruin all blitzes either. One of them was with the HoH nerf mod enabled, yes, but even in that one I didn't notice any attacks.

Opinion bug?? Not sure what the hades you're talking about here Gandalf. Perhaps you haven't read about what the bug does? Something that kills anyone who makes it into the Hall of Fame is more than an "opinion bug" - the devs have said it was a bug, sadly said, "Most amusing bug ever", and have left it unfixed.

Now, most people create pretenders and strategies that might get heroes or pretender _into_ the HoF. And currently, those commanders _die_, due to a bloody bug. Certainly a lot of players would be tempted to quit / go AI when their pretender gets killed, or all their powerful mages get killed, right off the bat, to a "opinion bug".

And since you can't apply a mod once a game was started without a mod, this bug is going to continue to have an elevated level of suckage.

Perhaps Gandalf, as I, has yet to meet the Hunter of Heroes? Not all of us have suffered enough to consider this as game-breaking as you.

Even before I finally met the HoH (thankfully in a SP test game) I could understand the consequences of the bug. Plus, Gandalf has stated that he plays mostly SP games, where increased randomness (such as having your best commanders assassinated by something like the HoH) is a good thing.

For the rest of us, getting a bug that randomly kills anyone we get into the HoF is rather more upsetting, _especially_ in MP games.
