Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
Dammit, Catquiet! Stop being so skimpy with new posts! You're making it hard to find!
With this almost all pretenders are accounted for, and we can start once I fix my laptop not to 'sleep' and turn off the internet. I'll update again once progress has been made, but help is still appreciated. If Strages Sanctus doesn't upload by the time I'm done I'll remind him via PM, but won't bother him in the meantime. I still don't know if this will work.
EDIT: I might have a fix. I'll post again when it can be seen whether it worked or not.

Re: Late Era Random Map (Full up, please stand by)
What do you mean it goes into sleep mode if power is turned off? Can you not just avoid turning it off in that case?
If you mean it goes asleep if you just leave it for a while (which I think is the normal power-saving feature), I think you can control power-saving features in Control Panel.
I found some instructions:
- Go to Control Panel
- Make sure you're in "category view"
- Click "performance and maintenance", then "power options"
- Fix the options
Hope that helps, and I didn't get the wrong end of the stick.

Really? Power options is right in the Control Panel open, for me.
Thanks very much for the advice, though. I'll try it now.

Oh yes, d'oh! Well you could also get to it by changing to "Category View" etc. if you wanted to pass the time.
I think you have to set "System standby" to "Never" if I was understanding correctly.

Already done, and already sucess. Thanks again!
We can start whenever, but I'll give Strages Sanctum until noon tomorrow to upload and PM him as a reminder. We're just about ready, folks.

Hasn't he already uploaded? He looks like he did yesterday, and there's an attachment on his post.

Oh, really? Crap... Sorry about that... Alright, then we can start at the turn of the hour. Best of luck, prepare to die, and don't kill me, in that order, to all competitors.

We've got trouble. My computer says Shovah/R'lyeh's .zip file doesn't actually contain anything. Can you possibly re-upload? We can start as soon as it's re-uploaded, or at noon EST tomorrow if Shovah doesn't make it.

Ah well, smooth sailing isn't very educational. So at least the problems are teaching us stuff

We're getting there, though. This is like post-preparation.
