Re: Seizing artifacts, accessing national summons
In case anyone wants to try out the rest of the wish related strings, they're in the attached .txt file.
The ones between "whatever" and "nothing" are probably what you can actually wish for, but there are some suspicious strings after that which indicate that you can wish for "many" / "a lot of" / "lots of" some things.

Since the "hunter of heroes" is in there as its own entry, which isn't needed for other individual units, I suspect that something happens *other* than it showing up to work for you if you wish for it....
Anyhoo - the Earth Mother and the various titans probably have the best baseline requisites of anything with full slots. I'm not sure if any of the Demon Lords or Amesha Spenta or other science fiction late game stuff is bigger - entirely possible that they are. Someone should try wishing for "many earth mother" and see what happens . Since you can get titans with Conj 9 for far fewer gems, wishing for earth mothers does not excite me if you only get one.

hmmmm...I think I'd rather have "many gorgon". I'm sure the hunter of heroes shows up and "works for you" as far as working up a sweat killing you in the most memorable way possible ("they found his head...where?...oh so it wasn't his whole head?...they found more than one head?") so as to add to your ultimate er glory.

Re: Seizing artifacts, accessing national summons
Okay, you can go ahead and wish for "many / lots of / a lot of" a monster, but it appears to be just the same as wishing for one of whatever.
I also tried wishing for spells by name (no dice, incl. global enchantments) and for "many swords" (only one sword.)

everyone, nation, huge, large, pretender, stop, everything and world - in spite of being on the list of strings - cannot be wished for.

Ah! "huge nation" can be wished for, just like wishing for provinces.

Wishing for the various flavors of horror sometimes gets you a doom horror for a single turn (as a commander, not as a unit) - and sometimes a doom horror attacks your God.

"genocide" is the same as armageddon.

Re: Seizing artifacts, accessing national summons
Wishing for "hero" gives only Antromachus (first unittype named Hero) as a unit, just as wishes for any other commanders.
Doom Horrors can stay for longer than one turn. They're pretty random.

I tried combinations such as "Stop Mictlan", "Stop [name of a pretender]", "stop world" - no effect.

"many" isn't recognized, and it'd be very, very strange any way. If you can wish for "many" anything, why wouldn't you add it in front of everything? There's also the trouble of plurals: "many Chalices", "many pairs of Sandals of the Crane", "many Staves of the Storm" etc.

Try "many earth mother" without pluralizing. The parser accepts the wish.... but only gives you one earth mother.

It would be funny if it granted the wish by putting many earth mothers into the game, but only giving you one of them.

 That would be funny.
Would be interesting if you could wish for "opposition" and it would cause all remaining Independent provinces to be reinforced to really nasty levels. Could be strategically useful. |
