Hello,
Just downloaded the new patch. The installation program gets hung up right after I select the location to instal into.
|
Hmmmm..... that's odd.
First off. Have any other of the patch installers you've patched your game with caused a problem on your machine ?? It's the same installer for each patch.
|
No, I currently have version 2.51 installed here.
Have never had any problems before regarding installation.

Re: Patch wont work on win 98SE
All I can say then is you have a corrupt DL which is doubly odd becasue obviously the zip opened up OK. Have you tried, as an experiement, trying to extract the patch to a test folder or any other place other than the one you changed it to ( I assume from your post you changed he default installation point )
An unzipped V3 installer should report as being 27.0 MB (28,347,084 bytes) as "Size" in properties and 27.0 MB (28,360,704 bytes) and "Size on Disk" if your's is that size it should be OK and the installer used for 2.51 ( and the others as well ) is the same installer used for the other patches
Try rebooting your machine and try again

Re: Patch wont work on win 98SE
The patch doesnt work, when I press "next" after selecting
the directory c:\shrapnelgames\camoworkshop\winspmbt
the program stops running...
I'll try downloading it again.
OK d/l it again, same results,I cant get past the directory selection.
Additional info- I can extract it into the default directory. But not the one I want . May have to re install the whole game into the default directory.

Re: Application of patch 2.51 during re install
No. That 2.51 patch was just a new EXE that allowed that. The new V3 allows it as well.

Where are you trying to install it to ?
Here's an idea. Copy your existing game to the default directory, install the new patch and then copy the whole thing back to where you want it
