Our moon priests advise us that we must also terminate our non-aggression pact with Vanheim. So be warned Vanheim in three months we shall be at war. We can only hope our God will awaken soon and lead us to victory!

The Shroud Congress has no reason to conflict with the large men as of yet, and will remain focused upon recovering our lands and freeing our people from the yoke of the blood worshipping Mictlan hordes.

The inability of the apostate were-men to see reason, and return these lands, shall spell their doom. May their next age be a nobler one. With hope, we burn a pyre in the central Colosseum - for peace and weal for all citizens of Aran, be they ignorant savages that are unaware of the testaments that Pontificus brings through our Augur Elders or otherwise.

Our memories are long. Righteousness and rectitude shall be ours, down to the last Leve if it must come to that.

- Archbishop of the Shroud

The Shroud Congress has failed to learn from the sad tale of woe that is the story of the Marverni nation. An early conflict over one small province escalated into a vicious war, with the result that both Lanka and Marverni are severely weakened.

Marverni rejected peace with Lanka, as our leaders feared our peoples would become angry and vote them out of office, were we to surrender the disputed province.

People of Ermor, rise up in a glorious revolution, and depose your shroudy congress who persists in squabbling with Mictlan! Cast off your present rulers, and join together as an autonomous collective, an anarco-sydicalist commune. Look to your North, where Arco is ravaged, for that is your fate if you do not make peace with Mictlan now. Accept our wisdom, for we were once unwise, and now we are all doomed if you do not join us against the Vanheim.

-- Secretary to the Minister of Subversion, Marverni

Edit: Our battle with Lanka is done, and we can turn our eyes to the east. We have executed several of our mages for refusing orders to cast Magic Duel in the Battle of Lanka.

The great war has begun.
The world must be prepared for Shaiar's return.

We knew that the other powers would turn on us when we attacked Arcosephale so there was no choice but to strike as hard and fast as possible, in hopes of being able to deal with them before having to defend ourselves.

Malverni, we regret your decision to break our alliance. It was a good alliance and benefited both of us. Do not regret the deaths of the demonic monkeys. We would have been glad to aid you further against them, but they fell to fast and only one of us could seige their capital.
We look forward to meeting you on the battlefield.

Mictlan, our Vanheres have long wished to test themselves against your jaguars. The battles will be glorious.

Ermor, we salute your honor in continuing our fight against the blood-worshippers who have oppressed your people.

Hakon, Prophet of Shaiar

OOC:
Thrawn, I feel guilty about trashing you that brutally, but I really felt I had little choice.
Wherever I attacked, I think the others would have struck as soon as I was occupied. You I could take out quick, since you had left yourself wide open, leaving me with only a three front war.
Next game, I bet you build provincial defense, though

This game isn't over by any means. I just watched a brutal battle between Ermor and Mictlan. I don't know if I could have beaten Mictlan's army. And he lost, badly.

Marverni are an honorable people, but we are also absolutely terrible at calculating dates, as we have not yet invented The Calendar or even Arithmetic yet.

What is the exact season when Marverni's hordes would be discharged from their treaties and obligations, and eligible to receive orders to advance into the land of Vanhiem on the next turn?

Of course, since we have spent the last several turns sneaking around trying to build an alliance against the Vanheim, we would hold no grudge against them were they to attack us immediately.

-- Secretary to the Minister of Oath Keeping, Marverni

PS Your news of the continuing conflict between Ermor and Mictlan is most distressing, and we are sick to our stomachs. Oh, hold on -- it's just indigestion from eating too many Monkey Pies.

I attacked Arco in Early Fall of Year 3, turn 30. You and Mictlan informed me of your intentions during turn 31. I would say that means you can attack on turn 34, Winter of year 3.

ooc, thanks! But does that mean I give orders to attack in turn 33 (early winter), and on turn 34 my armies attack, or do I give the orders to attack on turn 34? Apologies for the noobishness, and I think it doesn't really matter all that much in this game because it will be a massacre, but it's good for me to understand how these things work, if only for future games.

I see it as Orders on turn 34 and armies attack on turn 34. You see the results along with the chance to give orders for turn 35. That's probably just semantics and it makes less sense the more I think about it.
I didn't really think this through until it actually came up and I may not be strictly impartial here, so feel free to argue.
Here's my rationale:
3 turn warning means three turns between the warning and attack. Three sets of orders given.
In this case the warning was given on turn 31, we've all given orders for 31 and 32, giving 33 to position armies and on 34 we're all free to attack.

I hope that made sense. Is this hard to think about, or have I just not had enough caffeine yet?
