For 10 players? Creadle of Dominion is handsome.
Orania might be better balanced (note also that it is only slightly larger).
Do you want me to scatter the start locations over a map to maximize consistency of placement? It's a hangup of mine, if you post (or pick) a map-file, I can do whatever you want to it.

Cradle of Dominions sounds good. Isn't 20 provinces each a little on the large side though, or am I being silly? Maybe 12 players would be a little better.
Once we've worked out how many players, scattering the start locations sounds like a good idea, thanks Dr P.

Well, IIRC, 10/player is small, 20/player is normal and 30/player is large. I forget where those values come from, though.
It also depends on the amount of water and the connectivity of the provinces - if each province has a lot of neighbors, path length between capitals will tend to be smaller and the map will thus "seem" small, even if it has a lot of provinces on it.
