Re: Error report - obat12 USA
The issue here is the fact that it wouldn't be just changing it with regards to the USA OOB, but making sure its consistant with the OOBs. There are probably over a dozen AH-1s scattered across 6 or 7 OOBs or more. A quick survey found EW ranging for 2-8, and little consistancy. Its more work than just entering a new value, because doing it without a mind to the rest of the OOBs and other game elements means people are likely to complain in the opposite direction.
Furthermore, in terms of defensive qualities, the AH-1 series at the beginning has very little in way of improvements from the UH-1 except for its shape, which is dramatically redefined. Over its history, however, it gets significant changes in this quality. The "sugar" scoop exhaust suppression system, the M130 chaff/flare launcher near the tail, the AN/ALQ-144 pulsed infrared jammer, and redesigned rotor blades with reduced radar signiture. Its more than just IR defense. Chaff is not for IR defense.

Re: Error report - obat12 USA
Dear thatguy96,
you know, all this discussion seems to be no more than an excuse with the purpose not to change Cobra's EW.
But.
Concerning all that you said I can propose a compromise.
Only US Cobra's have such high EW of 8 during 80's - no other country choppers have anything like this.
So the decision is simple - to make Unit's 120 and 121 EW of 6.
EW 6 - is the standard EW for almost all other Cobra's modifications all over the world for the 80's.
So there will be no conflicts.
OK?
BTW all these radar jammers appeared in 90's on the late Cobra modifications - there are no documentary proofs that AH-1H had such jammer equipment. Am I wrong?

AH-1H? Firstly, I'm not sure what model you're talking about because there was no AH-1H. A quick look at the sources I have available has garnered a picture of an AH-1 with the AN/ALQ-144 in 1984. The delivery date of the first units, which were purposely purchased for the AH-1 series, is stated to be 1981.
