Re: Dom3 pdf manual
Its almost 300 pages of manual by the way. A bit much for a pdf offer.

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
Perhaps...someone should add a sticky to the forum: "Lockups, PDF Manuals, and other problems" which outlines clearly why such things happen. If you name the title right, it ought to catch most/all such posters.
"If your game locks up to just an image of the map, you may be a redneck, er software pirate" (Jeff Foxworthy voice there)

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
I'm always grabbing my manual to check on where I should concentrate my research, or why I can't seem to be able to make <insert magic item here> (Doh! Need fire 3 not fire 2 for that! As an example ), or to confirm national spell requirements.
Edi's spreadsheets are very nice for all the new stuff too. Especially for things like Lanka summons that are not in the manual.

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
As my manual has seen wear and tear...
If there's never going to be a pdf manual, is there a place on shrapnel games where I can order a replacement manual? I don't need a replacement serial, I've still got that page.
Or do I just have to put my manual on a pedestal and never travel anywhere with it? Within the first day, the rings were already attacking the pages, backpack-friction just wore it down faster.

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
Mine is a bit dog-eared as well. It would be cool to be able to purchase an updated manual with all the new stuff added in.

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
How in the name of Kurgi do you guys get your manuals chewed up and worn out? With Dom2, the first thing I did was strengthen the manual with adhesive, transparent plastic. Increases lifetime by 10x. With Dom3, I basically checked the tables, checked a couple of formulas and put the thing aside. If I need to open that thing, there is a Situation.
Of course, I've played Dominions since DomPPP, so I know most stuff from memory and making the DB has sort of helped remember what belongs where.

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
That ring ended up tearing the pages apart until I rebent it. With the back cover already weakened, it came off early. I'm taking more care with it now. I still have the index, front cover, and hotkeys, but I'm not traveling with it anymore.
First time player to dominions (aside from overwhelming dom2 demo), and frantic-quiet-frantic job pacing gives me a lot of downtime. I have confidence that the manual will stay together now that I'm doing that 'shelfed' thing you're doing, Edi. But how? The easy answer is, we're using it. And reading regularly. Not just using as a reference.

Re: Dom3 pdf manual
You should see my SFB rulebooks! I had to buy second copies of the main books due to the wear and tear of looking up all those rules over and over.
Don't get to play it much anymore though.
