Default lifeless and Rigor Mortis

I noticed that living statues may experience rigor mortis. That does not make much sense.

I do not think anything lifeless should be affected by rigor mortis. It could be by design, but it seems like it was overlooked.

i am not sure it is overlooked. It says only the undead are immune. Lifeless are not undead.

I am a firm believer that the spell should behave as described. Not all spells withstand the "logic" test. So I prefer the spells to do as they say-just as rigor mortis does.

That said, I would not be against it changing, but it presently does work as stated. Not a bad thing.
