Re: Imprint Souls
> Imprint souls is not worth the gems.
Ever? Wow. I wish I was smart like you. But instead I am stupid, and have
used imprint souls in all but one MP game I am in at the moment. In the lone
exception, I am not doing it for role playing purposes, but my last opponent is,
and has created quite some annoyance for me by doing so. He must not be very
smart, either.

Re: Imprint Souls
In the late game astral gems tend to be very valuable for numerous things. Consider summoning golems, abominations instead of wasting your valuable astral gems on something that gives such bad units as imprint soul.

Re: Imprint Souls
When I first read about imprint souls, I thought it would give you sacreds of your own national type.
Wow I thought, so if I play Niefelheim I get there giant sacreds? I did a test game...imagine my disappointment.
Got to agree with Evilhomer, the spell for 25S gems sucks. If it cost 5S gems then it would be okay. Also in my tests, it would 2 out of 3 times fail to take out a lvl 5 indie.

Re: Imprint Souls
I have to agree with Homer and Meglobob, there are so many better ways to spend 25 astral gems. Even in dom2 it was somewhat marginal, now with so much better PD and more troops running around, it's almost impossible to find a viable situation to choose the spell in.

Re: Imprint Souls
Are they better if you have a double bless set-up.. is the spell worth it then?

Re: Imprint Souls
If you're using it to usurp a nation from a distance, you can get similar results with nature, air, death, or blood spells. From my experience imprint souls is one of the more powerful versions, but it's SO expensive. You could teleport a thug onto the province for 2 astral pearls.
If you're using it for the units, again it's SO expensive. You get a handful of unarmored fanatics and a mad priest, but if you have a bless strategy then your nation obviously has far better sacred units than you could get from Imprint Souls.

Re: Imprint Souls
The spell is sometimes useful depending on the enemy nation and the current astral gem income.
