Fire damage, eh? A banelord with a fire ring might be able to laugh at it, even if he might find himself all alone when all his longdead buddies burned to a crisp...

Yep, but it will force the wearer to dedicate one slot for it.

Edit: So now Meglobob will equip his tartarians with fire rings

Edit2: His tartarians doesn't need them to surviuve though.

Scouts armed with gate cleavers are good for knocking down castle gates. Keep them stealthed with an army until you come to a fort.

Does Purgatory only affect enemy nations or does it affect ALL undead (including those belonging to the caster)?

only enemy nations where your dominion exists.
