Re: Scorned Land
I don't know, Tuidjy, you are in pretty good shape if you still have a nice income. I disagree with the idea that money isn't worth anything anymore, I would give anything to be able to build white centaurs again. Without money, Ulm and I are forced to rely on just summoned units. I mean, summoned units are great, but it would be better if I could add sneaking groups of white centaurs to the mix. And if I could recruit Pans again.
I think with Gift of Health I am in good shape as far as not dying, but as far as winning goes, I'm really not sure.
So, I am up for a draw if all players agree. If we continue, I am supporting Arco against the hated races of Ulm and Ryleh! If I ever find myself in a position of being able to push against Ulm, I would try to win for myself, as well.
Edit: Oh, about the reason why we didn't gang up on Ryleh-- we tried, we really did. But, Ulm and I were geared for war just before all this Ryleh stuff happened. I thought I had a pretty kick-*** midgame army, and he was the largest nation out there, so I wanted his land. At first, my plan was basically to ignore Ryleh as best I could and focus and Ulm. I mean, I helped in the dispel attempt, but when that failed, I foolishly decided to continue with my plans to attack Ulm. I mean, I had an all land army, and Ulm had no border with Ryleh, so I thought it was okay to do so.
But, that changed when the Armageddons started. I had just won a battle against Ulm, so when I offered him peace in fear of the armageddon, he accepted. So, everyone was geared up to strike against Ryleh (some already were doing so), but then the Sea of Ice went up. We dispelled it, and were able to get some units underwater, but then it went up again with tons of gems in it.
We actually got enough underwater to defeat Ryleh, I believe, and they are doing their holy work underwater as we speak.. but then Ulm attacked me. Ulm at this point has grown rich and powerful off his huge stretches of land, and he really still is in excellent shape to win.
Everyone else got frustrated and lost morale due to the constant armageddons, more or less that's the way it went, and they turned AI. I lost morale too, and staled a ton of times.
So, that is how the game went, according to me.

Re: Scorned Land
It was a good game. I'd love to get into the next one. I have a new and improved Mictlan build. Did we ever find out who was playing R'yleh?

Re: Scorned Land
I see how all this came to pass, I guess. Unfortunately, with two armageddons per
turn, the land of Arcoscephale is a haunted waste populated by undead... whose only
passion and motivation is the bloody demise of those responsible for the holocaust.
Well, I am slowly tightening my noose around R'lyeh's capital, but by the time
the bloody wisherS are dead, I am sure that my prospects will be just like everyone
else's - damn close to zero.
Still, I would rather finish the game, because lets face it - when will we ever
be involved in a game as messed up as this one?!
