It's probably an unintended side effect of the bless effect, so it can be considered a bug, but I do not know if there is any way to actually fix this.

What happens with blessed F9/D9 troops is that their weapons get a secondaryeffect of either "bless fire" or "bless death", which are both weapons. It is probable that the bless secondaryeffect overwrites the aoe secondaryeffect, since you can only have either secondaryeffect (takes effect on hit) or secondaryeffectalways (happens no matter what, which is what aoe effects are). So the bless effect is added, weapon has a secondaryeffect and the secondaryeffectalways is disabled.

That's my reading of it anyway, but I need to ask Johan to look at it.

would that mean also that an F9D9 bless would only give one of the two?

That'd be the logical conclusion, but it needs to be tested. Note that we are talking mostly about item-based weapons with aoe secondaries being affected, so I don't know if that is in any way significant.

That is a good effect to keep the double 9 blessed troops from being too overpowered.

F9D9 is so expensive that they *ought* to be overpowering, frankly.

The only fix would be to have the blessing add the secondary effect for the blessing *to* the secondary effect that the weapon already has (or keep going down the chain until it hits a weapon with no secondary effect).
