Re: Question regarding network games
Bob, yes you can definitely do this. Dom3 doesnt really care how you "connect" to a game: hotseat, pbem, network. They are all the same to it. So you will be able to start your game up however you like and then continue it when your son goes back to CA.
Once he is there, what you will need to do to continue the game at that point will be to start an instance of Dom3 and set it to be the host server for that game. Then also make sure that you open the correct ports in your firewall (assuming you have one) so that your son can connect to the game host you just started.

Re: Question regarding network games
Thanks, Ironhawk. I just got my copy installed and I'm having fun experiencing all the new content.
By the way, is the lack of a functioning 1920x1200 resolution a known bug? I looked in the bug list but didn't see such a bug listed. I have a native 1920x1200 res monitor and, although this res shows up in the list as available, if I click on it, it instead sets to 1920x1400, which clips off the bottom and top of my screen. Any idea why this is happening or a suggestion on a workaround?
Thanks,

* Setting 1920x1200 resolution didn't work properly, fixed.
workaround 'til the patch is avalaible :
Do not play fullscreen, but windowed, and maximized the window.
Game is more stable then if you have to switch to desktop/another app during play then anyway.

Re: Question regarding network games
Awesome! Hope the patch is available soon, but I'll try windowed mode and see if I can live with that (yuk).
Thanks!

Re: Question regarding network games
I tried the workaround, setting it to fullscreen and maximizing, and it didn't work. Setting the resolution to 1920x1200 has no effect, and the res won't stick, it falls back to either the one above or the one below.
Guess I'll have to wait for the patch.

Re: Question regarding network games
I like windowed mode; I even have it set so Dominions launches with a big window so I can have my 1600x1080 native resolution - and also have my IRC window open.

Re: Question regarding network games
I really don't like windowed mode. For me, it's a distraction that ruins my immersion and reminds me that I'm at a computer desktop.
