The /pictures/flags directory on your computer or on PBW? I'm not certain, but I think you can still only use flags that are on the PBW server, unless I completely misread what Geo said.

On our computers. They are stock images, but not supported in the new flag selection.

I thought that the flags in the flag directory are only useable for alliances and that if you wanted to use it as a race flag you had to have it in the empires folder. Am I incorrect about that?

The flags in Pictures/Flags are available to use in the start of a new game for me. I am not sure about the alliance part, would make sense though.

Ok, I ran some tests myself on the flag directory. In the stock flag directory there are Alliance### flagsets, Race### flagsets and Simul### flagsets. It appears the game is hardcoded to ignore the "Alliance" and "Simul" flags when you are setting up your empire, but it does give you the option to use the "Race" flags. It will also allow you to use any flag sets you put in this directory that don't start with Alliance or Simul. You don't have to follow the Race naming pattern.

Also, if you have a flag set in the flags folder that is the same name as one of the Empire folders, it will only give you the flag option once, rather than duplicating it. I think was addressed in one of the patches, because I seem to rememeber at one point a problem with duplicate flag sets showing up in the empire creation screen.

Yes, the code's all in place, I just have to upload them to the file library and you will be able to select them. I'll get it done by this weekend.
