Re: War of Dominion - Early Ages: Noobie Game (OPE
Oh, now I know what was asked.
Yeah, all you do is login to download. You CAN ENTER THE MAP! Nikolai. You just don't want to press "E" you want to press "options --> quit without saving" or whatever.

Why is it a bad idea to simply do your turn on the server?

I can't find any reason why it should be a bad idea.
But it is always nice to have a trn file of a particular battle or maybe an enemy SC.

Re: War of Dominion - Early Ages: Noobie Game (OPE
Its not bad to do it on the server but there is a slight element of risk. The problem occurs when you are the last player out (or near last) - if you accidentally hit end turn, your turn will automatically be submitted. If you just happen to be the last player there is no way to correct this. You are screwed. Even if you are near last, others can complete before you do and you may become last and not know it.
Generally, what people will do is connect to the server to get their turn then immediately disconnect. Play the turn offline (where you can end turn all you like, accidentally or not) and then connect to the server once the turn is complete.
P.S.
Sivoc, you need a less annoying avatar pic

One more thing. I wonder what is master password in such a game for?

The master password works in place of any of the players' passwords. It's useful if a player disappears, so they can be set to AI without knowing their password.
Argitoth, any chance you could change the thread title to something a bit more specific (e.g. the game name)? It keeps on confusing me.

Tell me exactly what name you would like me to use because Dominion "is" the name of the server. I don't know what you want. However, you should bookmark this thread.

I guess I should mention that I'm actually a scorpion man. I promise not to look at any mountains though.

That's strange. Every body seem to have played his turn but the hosting doesn't start. Wasn't the server set on quickhost?
