old age - afflictions, death scale mechanics?
I've been searching for 30 mins and can't find any definitive posts on this topic. The manual has nothing.
What I've found so far:
- old age units have a chance of gaining afflictions at the end of every winter season.
- the chance of getting an affliction as per above is increased/decreased for death/growth scales. None of the posts I read could say for certain whether this is really the case or not.
Can anyone provide definitive formulas for affliction chance?

Death & Growth scales do have an impact. Once upon a time there was a thread with the test data to prove it and prophecy says it shall return.

On a tangentially-related note, I've been playing EA Agartha. The Oracles don't show old age on the recruiting statistics, but it seems the minute you bring one out of the depths to serve his nation, the exposure turns his hair white and his skin wrinkly.
Why aren't they just old right from the start? It's a much better indicator of what you're actually getting for your money.

Try clicking "Fatigue" when examining one, it shows their current age, and their old age age (:P).
Insta-aging should only really be a problem for the fire oracles though (since each path in fire magic subtracts from the old age age.
(old age age = the age at which old age begins)

There is a randomness to starting age. With the Oracles, the default is below the old age age, but the randomness puts most of them over it.
