No Velusion - it's just a very wierd coincidence. I've double checked everything (after deleting frigment game directory). I even connected from another computer with fresh Dom install just to be sure. We can proceed with turn. But thank you for your concern and your action, I appreciate it. |

there are only so many startup locations. With so many players I don't think it so surprising that a couple will dup.

By the way, please remind me - what do all these special small icons on a random map mean?
IIRC some of them are just for fun, and some actually mean something.
For example, on our map we have:
Multiply tiny houses icons, sometimes several per province
Volcano icon
White stone building with big ball on top
Lake icon
Ice icon

I don't think the little house means anything.
But the volcano etc correspond to a special terrain mask that indicates more chance for sites, on a random map. However, the map file could have been edited and the terrain mask changed, in which case the graphic would still be there but the extra site chance wouldn't.
If you really want to check, have a look in the map file at the terrain masks, and compare the mask values to the values here:

Or you could just be sure to do a little more site searching in those sites.
