Re: blood noob question
I don't think death scale makes much difference for blood hunting unless you're in a really long/big game.
The reason you might well take it is to drop a really heavy bless on micts crazy sacreds.

Re: blood noob question
Just one point: playing Mictlan, turn 47 (not so long) a province near my capitol with death 3 from a magic site has gone from >6k to 3k people wihtout events, patrolling or overtaxing. This converts a suitable blood hunt province to an unusable one.

Re: blood noob question
You are not expanding fast enough
If you take more province pop each turn than you lose by scales and blood hunt you are good. Compensate unlucky events with another players capital. That should do the trick

Re: blood noob question
A couple of points, though i have never played Mictlan:
1. recently i have seen many players take dom 9 or 10 to start the game. Maybe just unlucky starts on my part, but in fallacy
most of my neighbors had awake pretenders and 9 dominion.
With 6 dominion, it was an early struggle to get more than 1 candle in my capital. I would have died for sure with 2 dominion.
2. I have fought against Jaguar Warriors, and I have to say with a triple bless, they are very hard to kill, especially when they are complimented by flying sacreds set to kill archers. But the negative scales mean you must be aggressive and attack constantly. If you are a player that likes to make treaties and build up, mictlan likely is not a race for you.
3. I like good scales, so i would not play Mictlan, but if i did, at a min. i would have f9 bless plus either a w9 or s9 bless. s9 is good because it gives them a 3rd life. w9 is good because they get quickness and close faster on their enemies. Extra attack is not really needed as a f9 blessed jag warrior typically kills whatever is in front of it quickly with its 3 attacks. But i have seen a triple 9 bless before, and early in the game that means death for most races facing them.

Re: blood noob question
aaaaa.... what is exactly the triple bless in this context? Does it mean three full blesses (=f9,w9,s9) or what?

Re: blood noob question
I'm currently against a S9F9W9 bless in a team game and I think mictlan might even had some help from it's teammember... and it's not very easy..
Jag warriors hardly die between quickness, twist fate and 2 forms with high HP

Re: blood noob question
You aren't devouring enough.
Devour his jaguars.
Devour his lands.
Devour his population.
And gnaw a bit on his castles.
And use your own teammember, unless he is gnawing on you
BTW teammember is an ugly word. Should it be spelled team member?
