Wr8th: I think Data, Picard and Worf singing in ST: Insurrection is an even better one But, you asked for it. "A Modder's Heart" didn't mesh well, though, so I present instead:

------------
"A Modder's Mind"
(To the tune of "A British Tar" from H.M.S. Pinafore, by Gilbert and Sullivan)

A modder's mind is a fearful thing,
They're crazy to a man;
His creativity conjures things that you and me*
Will barely understand.

His hands should fly,
And the code stretch out,
His new components,
Without a doubt,
Should seamlessly
Integrate themselves
With the SE4 that came to us right off the shelves.

[REPEAT]

His tech tree should be well thought out,
Its branches wrought with care;
His new facilities should have cool abilities,
Yet the mod must still be fair.

His new ship sizes
Should not seem queer,
And propulsion systems
He must make clear;
And when he's done with the mod he made,
He must post it on the forum, or it won't get played.

[REPEAT]
------------

* (Yes, I know it should be "you and I." Just go with it, 'K?)

Eric <-- who ought to be writing more useful things, and, for the record, sings counter-tenor.

So who's going to be the first among y'all to put his voice to it and post a WAV? Could then make it into an audio track for the startup of SE

[ Trek trivia ] Brent Spiner's first album ("Ol' Yellow Eyes Is Back") included a track with Stewart, Frakes, Burton, and Dorn singing backup.

Has anybody thought about doing a verse in the tune of La Donna E Mobile?

I'd do it but I'm horrible with rhymes.

The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.

Another one, this time to the tune of Monty Python's Eric the Half-a-bee song.
(On a bit of a Python splurge lately. Ought to cut down a little.)

A one, two. A one, two, three, four...

{Spoken}

Half an EEE, philosophically,
Must, ipso-facto, half not be.
But since an EEE is energy,
It can't be measured countably. D'you see?

So can an EEE be said to be
Or not to be an entire EEE
When half the EEE is not an EEE
Due to some ancient injury?

{Singing}

La dee dee, one two three,
Eric the half an EEE.
A B C D E F G,
Eric the half an EEE.

Does this wretched demi-EEE,
This non-corporeal entity,
Have only one polarity?
No! it's Eric the half an EEE.

Fiddle de dum, Fiddle de dee,
Eric the half an EEE.
Ho ho ho, tee hee hee,
Eric the half an EEE.

I love this brotherly specie,
Bisected accidentally,
When signing a partnership treaty,
I loved him carnally.
