Argh, waiting on Fomoria again... I find myself so excited to play a turn right away that I can feel every little delay now!

Re: Ascendant - EA Game For New Players (Sign Ups
I'd just like to state for the record that I'm glad to read anything that anyone in the game has to say, no matter how insignificant or silly it might seem. Don't keep it all in for fear of sounding foolish. We're all new here; let's all get to know each other as players while we can!
And I hope that if anyone has game mechanics related questions, we can all help answer it here as well.
I just recently discovered that bad omen events decrease the Luck scale of a province by 2. Tricky!

Re: Ascendant - EA Game For New Players (Sign Ups
A swollen pack of quicksilver wolves flowed across the plain toward the dirty ranks of bloody Sauromatia, like a river loosed from its captor. The sky grew dark and dripped poison, and Tuatha Sorceresses, full of knowledge and power, some near a thousand years old, died.
The wolves crashed into the front lines of the Sauromatians, and turned out to be no more than fangs and mist. The rank and file raised a cry, bloodstained, filed teeth hissing at their foe.
Golden Sidhe and Tuatha, finally returned from their shadowy lands beyond, met the iron rain of amazon arrows with their glowing molten shields, not entirely impervious to the massive number of falling projectiles. They battled through the Sauromatian line and assaulted the archer formation, golden spears flashing in the sun. They lept, spun, laughed, and died.
Daja, the great mother of all Tuatha, called her troops back, but there were none left to answer. She finally fled to the safety of her parapet, crying the hot, dark tears of a lost race.
Goober the Witch King wiped his brow and licked his red -stained lips in anticipation of the feast to come. Just outside the walls of the fort, to let the remaining inhabitants smell the flesh of their kinsmen, the fires were erected.

Oh, the Horror!

Ooh, ooh! I have a question!
I know what horrors are--really strong beings that can kill SCs and, failing that, send them down the path to death by horror. What I don't know is the difference between Horrors, Doom Horrors, Dream Horrors, etc. I know Doom Horrors are unique and possibly the strongest units in the game, but that's about it. What are the different Doom Horrors? What is a Dream Horror? What in the world do these things look like(I heard they were supposed to be really wierd-looking, but I've never gotten a horror attack, so I wouldn't know).
Also, err, it seems like Tir Na n'Og is in deep trouble. As it turns out, I think Kailasa is taking them down too. Perhaps I was wrong to root for the monkeys And in other news, Marverni is winning the war against C'tis and I just found a Kelp Fortress. Awesome.

Your ancient aboleths see much, but in this instance they are wrong. Tir na n'Og has been a good if reticent neighbour, and we would never attack them as you suggest. We are, on the other hand, annexing nearby independent provinces that border Tir na n'Og; perhaps this is the source of your confusion. (We do not blame you; it is indeed difficult to tell the many varieties of hairless bipeds apart.)

Re: Oh, the Horror!
I've seen Minor Horrors, which are cute; your common run-of-the-mill generic Horror, which is already starting to look quite funky; and then, I once saw a Doom Horror I think, although if it was, it might have been one of the weaker ones.

Re: Oh, the Horror!
There is the Maker of Ruins which kinda looks like a funky huge beetle if i remember right. One that looks like a huge ghostly-type head. And one that looks like the dominions application icon for OSX (dunno if it's the same for PC) I think that one is the eater of gods.
To make a long story short, you DON'T want to see those doom horrors cause they are quite nasty . I've had a few SCs kill the doom horrors but the fights were pretty close and this was an uber-decked out SC. If I remember right the higher end horrors have armor negating attacks with like 6 or more attacks and do crazy damage.

Re: Oh, the Horror!
On a side note, Battle rages between Arco and Helheim as Helheim strongly assaults Acro's prized lands. All seems quiet in the lands of Lanka as they quietly and quickly prepare an invasion force for Acro's lands.
