Re: Help with Dominions error
Try removing all your mods from the MOD folder.
I could not use the unit_view map because it was partially still using a the SC_Stadium MOD even tho it wasn't listed.
Once I moved all files from the MOD folder it started working correctly.

Re: Help with Dominions error
Thanks NTJedi. I just tried that, but no luck.
I have just remembered that an additional patch came out for linux to fix some network bug. So I came right back into linux to try that out. When starting a multiplayer game I start it as a network game you see, with all the pretenders already present. Best way to do it.
Doesn't explain why I can't even start single player games now though. Very odd.

Re: Help with Dominions error
I am not familiar with the linux environment, but were this a windows install of dominions, I would rename the folder and reinstall followed by the most recent patch. Maybe that would get you back on track?

Re: Help with Dominions error
I have just booted into Windows. My copy of Dominions here thankfully still works. But I got the same fg error.
I think I will just have to give up and go to bed. Very frustrating.
Thanks very much guys for your help. I'm sure it'll be one of those things that comes together once you come back fresh.

Re: Help with Dominions error
Really wild-*** guess... Unicode/UTF. Special character 65533.
Any regional settings change recently? Problem with any directory name? Reset your internet connection.
also, check the ownership of all the files.
I can't guarantee these are nothing more than wild geese chases. Don't worry if these ramblings don't make much sense, but they should be relatively safe and easy things to check.
