Re: The map that will never be
But thanks!!! It's not every day my writing gets compared to the incomparable H Ryder Haggard
I did base the name of the "Tsutsuwanna" on the Kukuana tribe in King Solomon's Mines, so there is some connection, apart from any writing style I may have borrowed.

Re: The map that will never be
That's a nice, evocative quote. I thought it sounded like it could have come from "Heart of Darkness". Which I have admittedly not read.
If Yarnspinners 3 ever happens, we now know who to recruit. But that would be madness, pure madness.

Re: The map that will never be
We really ought to do something like that for Dominions 3.
Maybe have a contest to see who can write the best story set within the Dom3 "universe"?

Re: The map that will never be
I think an AAR could sell. Especially if they did it with the story on the right-hand pages with the game moves on the left-hand pages. Could generate some real interest in the game.
I can show someone how to get it offered online as professional printed books with no money layout.

Re: The map that will never be
That would be great, Gandalf, except I don't know what an AAR is...

After Action Report
Its a generic gaming term for posting your impressions after playing a game or after taking each turn. Most of our RPG storyline threads are in the AAR subforum here. We have an AAR subforum for many of the games on Shrapnel.
